Hey guys! My name is Kurt. I am currently an employee at Black Rocket as an assistant instructor and graphic designer and the newest Rocketeer! I will soon be leaving to college majoring in film. To me, the greatest and most fun parts of making a film is the editing. I don’t know what it is about cutting up clips and moving them around on a timeline, but it’s just so fascinating!
My family has a big background in film and graphic design. My Uncle has been in the graphic design business for a long time. He won a Webby in 2005! My grandfather, Walt Rauffer, has been in the film business since the 1960′s. He had worked for MGM, developing a truck called Leo. This was the world’s first remote TV camera truck. Soon after, he became Sesame Street’s chief engineer. He designed Big Birds custom camera harness, and chroma key studio for Sesame Street, all of the Electric Companies special effects, along with designing and constructing a fully computerized post-production video facility for Movielab and Mediatech and much much more. I’d have to say my Uncle & my Grandfather have been a huge inspiration for me!
Okay so enough about me and my life. This blog is for you guys out there. We will constantly keep updating this blog with tips & tricks, news, and tons of tutorials. Maybe will even add a few contests with some awesome prizes! I tend to be a huge researcher when it comes to new toys, equipment and techniques so we will keep you update with the worlds latest technology.
